Privacy approach · private beta

Your context should support you.
It should not travel without you.

This page explains the current BetterMinds privacy approach in plain language. It is not a substitute for the full legal privacy notice, controller details and retention schedule required before open product onboarding.

Short version

What you share is for your support.

See it. Correct it. Remove it. Choose what to share.

This public website

Browsing the site should not create a hidden profile.

This public-facing site may be indexed by search engines. It describes BetterMinds and the current Ren private beta. It does not include advertising, behavioural analytics or a web form that submits personal information to BetterMinds.

Conversation buttons use an email link and open your own email application. BetterMinds receives only what you choose to send through that route.

Before open product onboarding, BetterMinds will need to publish the confirmed controller identity, contact inbox, cookie and analytics position, and complete privacy notice.

The Ren private beta

What the product may hold.

The exact mix depends on what a participant uses and chooses to connect.

Conversation & reflection

Conversation content, saved reflections, aims, communication preferences and learned patterns.

Check-ins & activity

Mood, sleep, anxiety, exercise, drinks, notes, completed practices and selected product events.

Optional connected context

Bounded aggregate Apple Health context such as sleep or activity. Raw Apple Health samples remain on the phone.

Preparation & actions

Editable professional-preparation notes and user-confirmed reminders or calendar actions.

Control

The product promise is visibility and correction.

Ren may automatically save some high-confidence cues, so BetterMinds does not claim every item is manually approved before use.

01

Review

See remembered aims, reflections and learned patterns in the product.

02

Correct

Add context or change wording when the working understanding is wrong.

03

Remove

Delete entries and memories that should no longer be held.

04

Go off-record

Prevent transcript, memory, event, tracker and learning writes for a conversation, subject to the minimal crisis-routing marker described on the trust page.

What still needs formalising

A private beta is not a finished privacy programme.

Formal account recovery, application-level encryption, audit logs, DSAR and retention tooling, enterprise certification and the final legal privacy documentation are not complete in the inspected beta source.

Strict authentication enforcement is also a gate before broader new-user onboarding. BetterMinds should not widen product access until the product, operating process and public notice match the promise made here.

This page describes the current technical and product direction as of 26 August 2026. It is an interim plain-language explanation and should be reviewed and replaced by confirmed legal documentation before open product onboarding.

Questions are welcome

Ask what happens to a specific piece of context.

Good privacy explanations survive concrete questions. Tell us the scenario you are worried about and we will answer in plain language.
